Description: Named the Border Terrier because they are from the border between Scotland and England where they originally served farmers as a working terrier and guard dog. The Border Terrier is able to look after themselves, usually with an amiable outlook on life. A no-nonsense little dog, the Border Terrier is game for anything. Unlike other terriers they are not argumentative. Border Terrier is a dog lover's dog.

Care and Training: The Border Terrier wiry coat needs minimal grooming. Clip out knots and brush occasionally with a bristle brush. Trim coat on the head, legs, neck and top of tail. Bathe only when necessary. The Border Terrier needs a good amount of exercise and the opportunity to run as they were bred to hunt and have a large amount of vitality and stamina. Training from an early age as the Border Terrier has a tendency to become destructive and chew things.
